Classy doc lost in thoughts

I’m not a big fan of poetry, however there is a poem that has inspired, encouraged, and motivated me for as long as I can remember, and it still does. It helped me survive through many “life” experiences. And it certainly is guiding me through the “real world”, as it is now making sense to me more than ever. So I thought I’d share it with you. Here it is…

IF by Rudyard Kipling

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

Well, Hello to all of you.
Can I say that I'm a constant reader of this blog but I hardly ever comment because everytime I happen to pass by, I find out at least 3-4 new posts. It really feels like it's 7-8 blogs all intergrated into one! Each one of you should have her own blog to tell you the truth !

Another thing, would you mind if i commented on the previous "set" of posts here rather than on each one?

I'm a big fan of poetry and i must say that this poem is deep and i can see why it would have the effect it has on you :)

Savvy Doc's intergirty post..

If someone told me that he thought or that most of our class considered me and my friends "outcasts" I would have laughed in his face until tears come rolling down on my cheeks! That is exactly what you should've done!
and i would tell him: "Who gave you the wrong impression that i cared about what you think?" or in this case sense it was a rather honset discussion, "I'm not interested in becoming something else other than i am and if you can't accept that then that's just unfortunate"
Regardless of how vast your exposure to different kinds of people you will always meet ppl you haven't expierenced before.
The best course of action is try to learrn the good and bad in each and then hold on to the good.
You will get backstabbed more times than you could every imagine. My back is all scars but that doesn't stop me from moving forward ;)
You should give everyone a chance and then it's up to them to choose how they want to be judged by you. We are all humans and all judge others no matter how hard we try not to. The best thing to do is to judge on things that are chosen by others. Taking aside the religious aspect because i'm sure that most might be consisdered better than me in that. I can't understand why ppl don't simply follow a basic moral human code of conduct.
I condemn all those who look down on me in from a religious point of view for instance and come preache to me about a necklace or a bracelet that i wear and then they cheat in an exam a few minutes later!
ok i have started rambling but my point is, You should never change yourself based on someone else's perception of what they think you ought to be but rather what you hope to be which is always working to get better in all different aspects of one's self :) i say SCREW THEM :P

I think Classy's post was in a way a reponse to Savvy's..
ANyhow, i don't think u coul generlize stuff inito forgive and forget because things desrve both or neither sometimes..
just be yourself and ignore the others that don't matter..
wo 3la gol ostaz al3araby 7aggy fy althanawy.. al8afela taser wo alkelab tanba7 !

ps. I'm sure that nearly half of my class aren't a fan of me or at least won't be in the future. and i couldn't care less. I don't like it when i see anything "wrong" takes place in front of me... needless to say, many that i consider wrong in my book r taking place and i'm trying my best to fix them and if not then at least i've tried..
and if you want to know the harsh/cold/mean side of me.. i could say that i wish i could execute 25% of my class, kick out 25% and maybe keep the remaining half

vintage, lol thank god it's easier for us guys to maintain a good looking apperance :P i can't say i feel your pain and agony ! allah y3enakom!

bs one of my motto's in life: The papckaging should be as good as the contents ;)
7ekayat shaving dy alema ! bs i shave my face every 2-3 days so u have no execuse :P

WOW 0_0 that's the longest comment i've ever written!

i'm bored and i'm tired and i'm sleepy and i didn't do well in Pharma so you'd have to execuse me!

If Only... but I fee a hint of regret when i utter those words, but this poem...a surge of energy comes poring through it... It's an excellent poem!

Bassem...very enthusiastic! It is long but we aren't "judging" you on the length, its the content... and that is as always very good.

You have to understand though, people when judging, in such a horrid way, make you recalcualte yourself, that's the only reason why anyone would look back, NOWAY is anyone willing to change themselves for worthless people, they have nothing better to do than disturb our peace...and then they call us outcasts for not "communicating"!

I probably would've resorted to a violence :P

Shaving...you've gone to the wrong territory man... you better step out quickly!

Classy:
If you can lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss (still willing to give it a shot!?)

If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much (priceless advice..especially in the "REAL" world!)

bassem- although i'm not one to "change" for others, let alone care whether or not they're willing to accept me as i am, i wouldn't SAY that to anyone's face simply because i believe in being the bigger person (+ it might disturb the "peace" :P).. but of course i'm not one to take such talk from someone and smile at them the next minute.. i just walked away n VOWED to go on being ME.. whether or not they wanna accept that is up to them..

lol idoc put it very nicely ;)

Bassem- thx for commenting…
“I condemn all those who look down on me in from a religious point of view for instance and come preach to me about a necklace or a bracelet that i wear and then they cheat in an exam a few minutes later!”………………SERIOUSLY!!
We get that too…we get weird looks from the girls for not covering our face in front of male doctors, and a minute later they backstab us!!!
I seriously don’t know how these people understand islam. It seems like they think islam is all about the way we look and how we dress and they forget about ethics and values!!
Allah yehdee el gamee3...

idoc: ya lots of energy!!

savvy: yes i am willing to "lose, and start again" but i can't guarantee you that i'm not gonna "breath a word about my loss"!!!

I hope someday we all can accomplish all those “IF’s”, and so the world would be “ours”
